Savannah Haunted Bar Crawl: The Traveling Ghost

2 hours

Easy

Part haunted history tour, part Savannah bar crawl. Hear the real stories, local legends, and ghost lore behind the city—without pretending every spooky tale is fact

Savannah doesn’t really have a drinking problem. We have a dead-people problem. Fortunately, we’re going to investigate both.

Welcome to The Traveling Ghost — a Savannah ghost tour for people who want the spooky stories without the bullshit, plus a few drinks along the way.

This is not your typical haunted walking tour. We combine a downtown Savannah bar crawl with documented history, local folklore, ghost stories, waterfront legends, and the strange tales locals have passed down for generations.

And we’ll tell you the difference.

If something is documented history, we’ll tell you what actually happened. If it’s a Savannah legend, we’ll tell you it’s a legend. And if a story has been repeated so many times that nobody knows where the truth ends and the ghost story begins…well, that’s Savannah too.

Meet your host in Ellis Square before heading to Congress Street Social Club for the first drink and a local legend about the mysterious ghost said to haunt the ladies’ room.

From there, descend into Factors Walk, one of Savannah’s most atmospheric historic districts. Beneath old cotton warehouses, iron walkways, brick passages, and historic vaults, hear stories of shadow figures, phantom footsteps, unexplained voices, and the real history that inspired generations of paranormal folklore.

Then grab another drink at Stafford’s Public House before heading toward the river.

On River Street After Dark, hear about Savannah’s infamous Stone Stairs of Death, real waterfront tragedies, old sailors, dangerous working conditions, ships, and the stories that grew out of centuries spent along the Savannah River.

After another bar stop, the final chapter takes you through Savannah’s historic 1912 power plant at Plant Riverside District and up to Electric Moon, overlooking the river.

With the waterfront glowing below, hear the real story of Florence Martus, Savannah’s Waving Girl, tales of lost sailors, maritime ghost lore, and the CSS Georgia, a Civil War ironclad that spent more than a century beneath the Savannah River.

Throughout the night, one question follows us:

Do ghosts stay where they died—or can they travel?

The Traveling Ghost is equal parts bar crawl, haunted-history tour, local storytelling, and Savannah night out.

No fake séances.
No pretending every old building has a murdered bride in the attic.
No turning folklore into “fact” just because it makes a better ghost story.

Just real Savannah history, genuine local legends, creepy stories, cocktails, laughter, and the occasional mystery we can’t explain.

Some spirits stay. Some follow you home.
